Weep not for me, dear husband,
Nor mourn my early doom;
Father and mother do not weep,
In anguish o'er my tomb.
Nor thou, my dear young husband,
Wear a cloud upon thy brow,
For never amid our brightest joys
Was I so blest as now.
Her languising head is at rest,
It's thinking and aching are over;
Her quiet, immovable breast,
Is heaved with affliction no more.

Death of F.N. Bucher. Another of Boyertown's estimable citizens has been called from the shores of time. Mr. Frank N. Bucher peacefully passed away in his home on Reading Avenue, just Saturday morning, after a prolonged illness of dropsy, aged 61 years, 3 months, and 23 days. He had been confined to the house for several months, but was bedfast only a few weeks. Deceased was born on a farm in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, in 1829, and resided there until the year 1867, when he purchased the American House in Boyertown, of Adam Seiden, which he successfully conducted until 1878, when he went to Bechtelsville and took charge of the Union House there. He remained there only two years and then moved to Gilbertsville, where he kept the Gilbertsville hotel two years. From there he returned to Boyertown and resumed the proprietorship of the American House. Soon after his return to Boyertown, in 1880, he established a livery stable in connection with his popular hostelry. Two years ago he retired from the hotel business transferring it to his eldest son, Thomas, who very successfully conducted it since then. He continued the livery business until the time of his death. Mr. Bucher was married August 7, 1852, to Mary Ann Gresh, and six children were the fruits of this union, four of whom are still living. The surviving children are: Thomas R. Bucher; Mrs. Minerva Gilbert, of Allentown; Miss Ida Bucher, and Frederick Bucher. His wife also survives him. Deceased was always an active citizen and life-long Democrat. He was one of the first members of the Keystone Fire Company, having joined the company in 1873, and was the treasurer of the company for many years. The engine house will be draped in mourning for thirty days out of respect to the deceased. He was also treasurer of the Gilbertsville Live Stock Insurance Company. Deceased was a much honored member of the Masonic Fraternity, having achieved the degree of Knight Templar, being a member of Commandery No. 42, of Reading. The [funeral took place] on Thursday, and was one of the largest ever held here, as the deceased enjoyed a very large acquaintanceship. Reading Knight's Templar Commandery No. 42 accompanied by the Germania Band, Stichter Lodge No. 254 F. and A. M. of Pottstown and the members of the fraternity of Boyertown accompanied the remains to their final resting place. They were interred with the beautiful Knight Templar rites. Rev. Freeman officiated and took his text from 2 Cor. 5:1 "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heaven". He projected a very impressive sermon. The pall-bearers were R. Richards, Jacob Wallach, John Shaeffer, O. Grimley, A. S. Leidy, E.F. Jones and Clayton Lefever, all of Boyertown and members of Stichter Lodge, Pottstown. The floral tributes were profuse. Thus endeth the earthly career of an active and prosperous citizen. May he rest in peace.
