Jacob B. Herzog, Berks county, was born February 10, 1860, in Rockland township, where he lived until he was fifteen years old, when he removed to Oley; was educated in the public schools of his native township, and in the Oley Academy; worked on a farm, learned the trade of painting; has taught school during the winter months for the last seventeen years in the townships of Ruscombmanor and Oley; served as organist at various churches during the last ten years; has frequently represented his township in county conventions and served as secretary and clerk of the Democratic standing committee of Berks county since 1889; was a member of House of Representatives, session of 1893.
