The following adoption records came from the Berks County Court House. They were submitted by Judy.
Judy purchased the records from someone in the County office who had compiled these records. These records cover all the early adoptions that were recorded at the Berks County Court House. Neither I nor Judy have any further information.
The adoptions are listed alphabetically by the child's surname. If you suspect that a child's adoption was recorded under more than one surname, check the additional surnames.
I have no key to what any of the abbreviations mean, though I'm fairly confident that "c/o" in the "Refer to" column in these tables indicates "child of." And, I think it's fairly easy to determine what most of the other abbreviations mean.
